Description

This was the first time anyone had thrown a "messenger" strike on ABC's Pro Bowlers Tour. It happened at the 1980 Showboat Invitational, and it was Wayne Webb, making one of his first appearances on TV. No doubt Bo had seen this kind of pin action at tour stops during the week. But up to this point, it had never been seen on TV. So they hadn't yet coined the term "messenger" to describe it. Originally telecast January 12, 1980 from Showboat Lanes and Casino, Las Vegas, NV. Chris Schenkel on the call. Nelson Burton, Jr. on color.
