Here we see highlights from Match 2 and Match 3 of the stepladder finals. Palmer Fallgren had advanced to the 2nd match by beating George Pappas, 256-175 in Match 1. Here we see the dramatic ending to Match 2. This is one of those really unusual occurrances, almost as weird as the bomb scare at the Firestone. A torrential storm moves right over the top of the bowling center and becomes so loud, it nearly drowns out the announcers and undoubtedly is unsettling to the bowlers and spectators. Palmer Fallgren raises his arms to cover the top of his head, as if to signal that the roof was about to cave in on top of him. Despite his errant shots, Fallgren forces veteran Les Zikes to strike in the 10th to advance. Then there's a few shots from the semi-final match against #2 seed Henry Gonzales. But the winner of the matches you see here goes on to win the tournament in the final match against top seed Marshall Holman (not seen here). Dave Diles on play-by-play. Nelson Burton, Jr. on color.
